Pretty

The weather pretty much stinks right now. It was below zero this morning. It's been cold, cold, cold for what seems like seven years.
So today, I was looking at my computer, enjoying my beautiful desktop background and thinking back to when my wife took the picture...it was a beautiful, warm day.
Then I realized how much I loved this picture, and figured I'd share it with the rest of the world.
So, enjoy:

Star Trek. Robot Chicken Style!

Star Trek: The Movie was one of the biggest disappointments of my life when I saw it. I was a HUGE Star Trek fan as a kid and couldn't wait to see it.
Of course, after seeing it, I summed it up in my mind with one word: Huh?!?!
However, the franchise was saved by Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. This movie became an instant geek cult classic.
The dudes at Robot Chicken have boiled TWOK down into an Italian style opera, and it's all kinds of awesome.

Some Funky Syncopation!

It's no secret that I love cartoons. Always have. Always will.
From when I was a kid waking up early on Saturday mornings to watch Superfriends to, well, this morning watching Phineas and Ferb with my youngest.
There was a time when I stopped watching them though. During my teen years and into my twenties, cartoons were TERRIBLE. At some point, the producers of the shows were allowed to change the way they marketed items to kids during cartoon times and from then on, the money for cartoons was put into that...marketing. Not the content of the 'toons, but the commercials and products surrounding them.
So the early stuff was 'good'. The middle stuff...not so good.
What's making (some) cartoons good again is competition! Between the Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, Nic-toons and a few others, there are boatloads of cartoons options out there, so cartoons are getting more and more clever.
Phineas and Ferb are currently my favorite...mostly because I find them clever.
Here is a clip from one of my favorite episodes called: Dude, Were Getting The Band Back Together which is a slight send up of the Blues Brothers.
Enjoy. **Updated with a working link

Politicians Are The New Ninjas...

Ok,so first Pirates where the new Ninjas. Then Zombies were the new Pirates. Now, Politicians are the new Zombies. So by the Transitive Postulate of Equality*: Politicians are the new Ninjas! Whew! WE'RE SAVED!

*Ninjas = Pirates. Pirates = Zombies. Zombies = Politicians. Ninjas = Politicians! Ta Da!
